Mary Elizabeth Green was born July 21, 1949 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the loving daughter of James and Irene Green. She entered into eternal rest on April 22, 2016.

“Mello”, as she was affectionately called by her family, attended Booker T. Washington High School. She also attended Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina.

Mary worked at the Olympia Mill for ten years and at Conoco for ten years. She also worked as a custodian for the University of South Carolina at the Solomon Blatt Center for twelve years, from where she retired.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother, spouse, grandmother, aunt and friend. Although physically she is no longer with us, her loving and kind spirit will forever live in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Roosevelt, Patricia, Brenda, James Jr., Eugene and Anthony Green.

Those left to cherish Mary’s precious memories are: her significant other of more than 40 years, Willie Jones; two daughters, Raponda (Ronald) Williams and August (Michael) Green; and seven wonderful grandchildren: Rolanda, Brittany and Octiva Williams, Future and Arabia Green and Saron and Benjamin Caldwell. She also leaves seven beautiful great-grandchildren: Clinton Walker, Maury Williams, Demetrius Robinson, Jr., Ty’Keira Bates, Kenard Walters, Miracle Walters and My’Kina Walters; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
