Mr. Manzie Everett Stinson, of 2427 Midland Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina, departed this earthly life at Palmetto Health Richland on Wednesday June 15, 2016. Manzie Stinson was born on October 30, 1950 in Richland County, South Carolina to the late Tiny Livingston and Mattie Stinson.

Mr. Stinson attended the public schools of Richland County and later joined the United States Army where he was honorably discharged on July 9, 1970.

Manzie, affectionately known as “Sonny”, enjoyed fishing, playing cards and being with family and friends. His one true passion was construction, building things from the ground up and seeing his work come to life. He was always willing to help others, and would not hesitate to give you whatever he had.  “Where ever the wind blows, I’m fine with it” was his favorite statement to any situation or circumstance. Sonny left a lasting impression on every one he met.

Those left to cherish the fond and precious memories of Manzie “Sonny” Stinson are: his daughters: Rolanda (Rodney) Gary, Alicia L. Davis, Theresa (Vincent) Stocker and Tonya Stinson, all of Columbia, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: Leopold (Rethella) Stinson of Columbia, South Carolina, Darnell (Richard) Stinson of Atlanta, Georgia and Lonell (Yvonne) Clinton, of Miami, Florida; a loving aunt whom he adored with all his heart, Marlean Razor of Columbia, South Carolina; a very special friend he could always count on, Cheryl Batton; nieces, nephews, a host of  other loving relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
