Mrs. Luna G. Bynum was born November 21, 1926 in Eastover, SC to the late Nancy Griffin. She departed this life on Thursday October 20, 2016 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.

She was educated in the public schools of Richland County. She loved the outdoors, cooking and being a caregiver to all. Luna was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister and friend to all those who knew her.

In addition to her mother, Nancy Griffin, she was also predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Bynum; daughter-in-law, Emma Griffin; brother-in-law, Clarence Jackson; and grandson-in-law, James Ricky Scott.

Luna leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving son, Theodore Griffin of Eastover, SC; one sister, Betty Jackson of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Sheryl (Alex Morgan) Griffin and Debra (James Dunlap) Scott both of Eastover, SC; six great-grandchildren: Devvin Griffin of Norcross Ga., Jamie (Megan) Scott of Columbia, SC, Adelia (Willie) Pressley of Eastover, SC, James (Kierstin) Scott of Williamsburg, Va. and Joshua and Jessica Scott, both of Eastover, SC; nine great-great grandchildren: Jeremiah, William, Amyra, Marquis, Ahmad and Jamie Jr. of Eastover, SC, Laila, London and Joseph of Columbia, SC; and a host of other loving family, friends and her beloved pet dog, Princess, all of whom will miss her dearly.
