Mrs. Barbara D. Wise was born on December 31, 1955 in Columbia, South Carolina, She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Darby. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Providence Health, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was educated in the public schools of Richland County, graduating from Eau Claire High School. She was a dedicated worker in Richland School District One for many years.

Trustee Wise joined Zion Chapel Baptist Church #1 at an early age and remained a faithful, dedicated member until her passing.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories are: her loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Pansy R. Darby of Columbia, South Carolina; a sister, Lula M. Veal, also of Columbia; four brothers: Ernest (Janie) Darby, Jr. of LaGrange, North Carolina, Thomas (Lillian) Darby, Calvin (Mary) Darby and Daniel Darby, all of Columbia, South Carolina; and a host of caring nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice in knowing that she is now resting with the Lord.
