Lena Mae Anderson was born June 5, 1939 in Allendale, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Leroy and Rosetta Brown Kelly. She passed away at her home on September 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Lena was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington’s Class of 1957. Throughout the years, she remained an active alumna. For more than 30 years, Lena worked at Richland Memorial Hospital (now Palmetto Health Richland) as a Sterile Prep Technician.

She loved playing Bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling and sewing. After her retirement, Lena especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very strong woman loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lena was predeceased by her daughter, Constance Anderson, and brother, Leon Kelly.

Those Left to cherish precious memories and Lena’s legacy of love are her children: Jacqueline Kelly, Benji Anderson, Terry Suber, Wanda Anderson and Nicole Anderson; siblings: Ruth Curry, Gloria Myers, Rosa Kelly, Gracie Kelly, Christine Alston and John Kelly; her beloved grandchildren: Amber Anderson, Taya Williams, Prosche Anderson, Tevin DeLoach, Michael Weathers, and Hannah Kelly; great-grandchildren: Jalyn House, Chase Wilkerson, XZavion DeLoach, Journee DeLoach, Tnylah Smith, Marley Mills and Ayanna Anderson; as well as other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
