To The Family of Julius Thomas:
I just stumbled upon Julius’ obituary. And while it has been 2 1/2 years since his passing, I wanted to send my condolences nonetheless.
I knew Julius at App State. I faced Julius and Mike Staton every week as the featured running back of the opposing team (ie the practice squad). That tandem of linebackers beat me unmercifully.
But Julius was always a gentleman. When he didn’t have his game-face scoul on, he always had a smile.
I’m sad to know that Julius is gone. But proud to have known him. I have no doubt he was a tremendous husband and father.

I knew Julius well over 40 years ago and took him to the orthopedic surgeon several times when Julius had a severe injury. I was so pleased when he chose to attend ASU and excelled there. My thoughts are with Lottie, his wife, and children. He was a great person.

I am extremely sad for your loss. Mr. Julius Thomas Sr., was always so helpful and kind as he continued to encourage me in my endeavors. It was approximately 30 years ago in which I had the pleasure to first work with him and continued our professional experience throughout the years. It was because of Julius that I had such a positive experiences with his family, firm and the Allstate Family. My last conversation with him entailed the reflections of our life.... "remembering our humble beginnings and how thankful we were for our blessings". I will always remember him and keep you in my prayers.

My Dear Cousins,
The news of Julius' passing was a real painful hurt to my heart , the tears cannot stop flowing. Julius was such a beautiful person that God gifted to us. I was blessed to call him cousin, friend and co-worker.
I last saw him in April at his office and we had a great reunion. If I had know that was going to be our last encounter I would have held on just a little longer, just a little tighter.
Janice, I appreciate you calling me and my heart is breaking for you and the boys and Momma Lottie as you go through this very sad moment. I regret that I will be unable to attend the services because of a cross country excursion I am currently on.
Thomas is leaving Atlanta soon to be there and the other family of Patterson's will be there with you all.
I love you and I pray for you. I leave you with what Julius said to me on our last parting. It will be alright.

I am immensely saddened by the passing of one of the greatest father figures I grew up to be around. I am blessed to have spent time with you and share conversation and life advice with. You are truly a compassionate soul and a very loving soul. A true man of his word with a beautiful family who followed your lead.
