Deepest sympathy to the family. Served with James in Korea. The best friend anyone could have. I loved him like a brother. So sad today to just find out. My prayers will be with you all.

I will always remember Deacon Boyd singing his favority song, "I Am Redeemed." He was always so friendly with that big smile and ready to talk about the Lord whenever I might chance to see him. Sincerest and heartfelt sympathy to you all.

To Shonna, Pierre, LaVelle, & JR: Your Dad was a great man who loved each of you. I have great memories of us all together at Fort Knox laughing and getting into trouble -- and your Dad was always there to keep us in line! He will be missed. God Bless you all! Love, Sharon Fletcher

You are the most beautiful family that I have had the opportunity to know. You make everyone feel welcome. Though my daughter and I have been away from South Carolina for more than twenty-five years it does not seem that way. I remember visiting you and made to feel like family.
Deacon James Boyd will be missed because he lived a good life and had character. Continue to carry on the legacy of love that he left with you and you will always have him with you.
