The sun rose for Elder Henry Calvin Henry Calvin Williams on January 12, 1946 in Tampa, Florida. He was the second son of the late Henry David and Sarah Elizabeth Williams. He passed away on May 4, 2017 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Henry grew up in Tamp, spending his early years of schooling at the Mt. Calvary Seventh-Day Adventist Church School. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army for two years, serving a tour of duty in Iceland. He later furthered his education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and a Master of Divinity Columbia International University.

Henry acknowledged, confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He later rededicated his life of service to the Lord. He was a member of the Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church for more than thirty years. He served in various capacities, including: being an Elder, Sabbath School Teacher, Prison Ministries Leader, Bible Study Outreach and with the Transportation Ministry. Henry also coached the Men’s Church Basketball Team, which went undefeated under his leadership.

Henry was employed as a construction worker and he was an entrepreneur, starting his own business. He was a man who was down-to-earth with everyone, sharing, his sense of humor and his faith. To pursue his love and compassion for people, he opened a transitional home for the unfortunate. Having had success with the transitional home, he then gained employment with the Oliver Gospel Mission in Columbia, South Carolina, where remained for more than eighteen years, until his health began to fail. Under his guidance and counseling, thousands were able to go back into society as productive individuals.

He was predeceased by his parents, Henry D. and Sarah Thomas Williams; his brother, George B. Williams; nephew, Charles David Moore; and niece, Darlene Y. Moore.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: his daughter, Antrinette (Oren) Brown; six grandchildren; his caretakers and family: Terrance and Chyrell Johnson, Tashawn Finnie and Chris, and Nicholas and Delicia Ealy; his sisters: Rose (Rodney) Durand, Margaret Williams and Mary Williams; and a host of great-grandchildren, godchildren, church family, coworkers and dear friends.
