Willie Edwards Scott III was born July 15, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Priscilla Scott and Willie Scott Jr. He departed this life on Monday, May 12, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
In 2016, Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Brittany Smith whom he loved dearly.
Willie, aka, "Chill Will”, “Big Willie”, and “Sunnie" attended the public schools of Richland County; and was a 2002 graduate of Spring Valley High.
Big Willie was a shy and reserved man who lived his life to the fullest, traveling to Wisconsin, Chicago, North Carolina, and Florida.
Willie was an all-around loving, kind, and strong person, he did his best with the cards he was dealt; and the ones he picked up along the way. The way he chose to play his cards gained the respect of all those who knew him.
In addition to his wife and parents, Willie was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elise Robinson and Charles Edwards; paternal grandparents, Almeta (Willie) Scott; aunt, Joyce Flagler; and uncle, George Brannon.
Willie leaves his cherished memories to his loving brother, Nathan (Trudy) Edwards of North Carolina; two loving sisters, Vernita Scott and Shonyea (Brandon) Pinckney of South Carolina; four nephews, Alexander (Jasmine) Edwards of South Korea, Tyreik Mingo of South Korea, Brandon and Anthony Pinckney, both of South Carolina; four nieces, Alexis and Aliyah Edwards of North Carolina, Zalika and Aniya Campbell of South Carolina; two great nieces, Jayla Edwards and Nova Mingo; a caring aunt, Janice (Floyd) Patterson of Georgia; loving cousins, Elita Brannon, Tia Brannon, Daniel (Jennifer) Brannon, Elizabeth (Jarod) Pearson, and Ronald Patterson, all of South Carolina, Kenya (Terrence) Manning of Georgia; Sweet Pea, Vickie Scott, Carlos Scott, and LaShonda Scott of South Carolina; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
