Willie Edward Jones

Willie Edward Jones was born September 23, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Ulysses and Carrie Johnson Jones. He entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at PRISMA Health Baptist Medical Center, in Columbia, South Carolina.

"Jip" as he was affectionally called by family and friends, attended the public schools of Richland County. He worked as a Tile Setter for many years, which he loved doing. Working as a Tile Setter was his favorite profession, and he often said it was the only type of work he would do, because he knew his stuff and that he was one of the best to ever do it. He also enjoyed fishing, sports, and watching old western movies.

Willie was a loving son, father, grandfather, and friend that loved his family. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, Willie was also proceeded in death by his significant other of more than forty years Mary Green; his sister, Doris Fludd; son, Courtney Jones; and his uncle, James Johnson.

Those left to cherish Willie's fond memories are his three wonderful daughters, August (Michael) Holmes, Authalia (Donald) Benson, and Raponda Williams; his amazing son, Reginald Jones; niece, Clishia Jones; and two very special cousins, Bernice Johnson and Scottie Chestnut Jr.; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
