William Islar Jr. Obituary

Mr. William Islar Jr., 60, of Columbia, SC was born in New York City on February 19, 1958 to William Islar Sr. & Jeanette Islar. He departed this life on July 29, 2018 at Palmetto Richland Hospital.

William graduated from Weequahic High School in New Jersey. He traveled to South Carolina where he worked for over 20 years as a specialist for the Department of Mental Health. Whille working and raising a family, William AKA June graduated from Midlands Technical College with an Associate Degree in Eletrical Engineering. He then worked at Square D as an engineer for over 12 years.

He was a man with a huge heart. Whether you know him as June, Junebug, Dad, Grandpa, PaPa, or Cuz, you knew his love. He has a geniune concern for people. His grandchildren were the loves of his life. Since the first one was born, “the nest” has been the designated daycare of the June Empire. His love was patient non-judgmental, understanding, and free to all who knew him Heaven has truly gained a soldier.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Islar.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving parents, William & Jeanette; his sister, Shelia (Calvin) Barrino; seven children, Falyn, Cheryl & Lashonda, mothered by Elnora Williams, Nathan, Katina (Arthur), Sylastine (Jimmy), and Cherree (Levern), mothered by Linda Brown, 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews, three aunts, two uncles, and a number of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
