William Everett Jenkins was born on November 9, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late John Walter Jenkins Sr. and Effie Lee Nelson Jenkins. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
“Bill,” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the Public Schools of Richland County School District One where he attended Columbia High School. After high school William began his career as an auto mechanic, eventually owning and operating “Jenkins Auto Garage.” He also worked for Wal-Mart for five years until his health declined.
During his life William was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved fishing during his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, and movies. He was blessed with many friends, and acquaintances who loved him dearly. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those whose lives he so lovingly touched.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories are his loving and devoted girlfriend, Deloris McCant of Columbia, South Carolina; loving sisters, Beverly Jacobs and Paula Silas, both of Columbia, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Robbie Jenkins and Janie Jenkins; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom are sadden by his departure, but grateful that he was a part of their lives.
