William Bell, Jr.

Mr. William “Big Bell” Bell, Jr. departed this life on Friday, June 14, 2019. He was the son of the late William Sr. and Maggie Bell. He was born in Columbia, Sc on February 1, 1939.

William was educated in the public schools of South Carolina graduating from C. A. Johnson in 1957. He was known for his passion for sports, being one of the founders of the Greenview Eagles Pop Warner organization; coach for B&W Ladies Softball team and a member of a local bowling league where he bowled numerous 300 games. He retired from the South Carolina Department of Corrections. His love for God’s word inspired him to be a faithful member of International Praise Church of God.

Cherishing his memories are his wife of 59 years, Bessie Spry Bell; his children, Pamela Bell Campbell, Reggie (Shirley) Bell, Kimberly Bell, Rodney Bell, and  Tuan (Deana) Bell; godson, Willie (Jackie) Minor; a devoted nephew, Levi Spry; siblings, Joseph (Clotel) Bell, Sr., Ernestine Hemmings, Joseph Stanley (Janeria) Carter; sister-in-law, Minnie Canzater; brother-in-law, Levon Spry, 11 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
