Virginia Mary Clark

Virginia Mary Clark was born December 3, 1930 in Greeleyville, SC.  She was the only child to the late Mattie July.  She departed her life on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Life Care Center in Columbia, SC.  She was 89.

Mother Clark was a faithful member at Christ Mission Church in West Columbia, SC until her health declined.  Her husband, the late Bishop Clark, was the co-founder of Christ Mission Holiness Church.  Mother Clark worked diligently in the church serving as a missionary working to help others.  She was a Sunday school teacher as well as the Sunday School Superintendent. 

Although Mother Clark physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit of Love, Joy and Peace will live on in the lives and hearts of all those who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Late Bishop Edmond Clark, her mother-n-law Mrs. Lola Clark Daniels and a special niece, Geraldine Sligh Jennings.

Those left to mourn Virginia’s passing and cherish her memories are her Great Nephew, David (LaTongie) Jennings, great niece, Dareline (Marvin) Jennings-Bracey; special nieces, Annette Jackson and Dorothy Dantzler all of Columbia, SC and Scharline Hart of Sterling, VA; nephews Richard Sligh and Robert Sligh; spiritual daughters, Evangelist Janice (Jimmy Lee) Gillings and Minister Jackie (Dennis) Gadson; special Cousin, Ann Carr, Deborah Johnson, Reverend Marvin July, Rev. Curtis Capers; close friend, Irene Tidwell;  God children, Justin Gillings, Dennis Gadson, Jr., Lesley Gadson, Jermey Gadson, Brittany Matthew and a host of great-great nieces, great-great nephews as well as other family and friends.
