Ulysses Stanley Savage, affectionately called “Yoke” by family and friends was born December 30, 1960, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Ella Hammond and Isaiah Savage. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday January 13, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ulysses was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One where he graduated from Eau Claire High School. He was formerly employed with Good Year Tire (Firestone) and Snider Tire Companies.
Yoke was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Smith, Sr., Curtis Savage and Thaddeus Savage; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Showell, Kimberly Handruick, Annette Thompson and Crystal Anderson.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Ulysses are his loving wife, Jacqueline D. Savage; children, Latrina Robinson, Teka Robinson, Tamara Robinson, Eric Robinson, Samantha Savage, Victoria Savage, Ashley Savage, Joseph Savage and Joshua Savage; sixteen (16) grandchildren; four (4) great grandchildren; brothers, Issac Savage, and Curtis Smith; sisters, Brenda (Lewis) Scott, and Clotel Bell; brothers-in-law, Thomas Mitchell, William Mitchell and Rodney Robinson; sister-in-law, Cheryl Jackson; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
