Ulysees Bowers, Jr. Obituary

Ulysees Bowers, Jr.  affectionately known as “See” peacefully departed this earthly life to meet his heavenly father on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.

See was born on March 13, 1970, in Newberry, South Carolina.  He was the son of Leila Pearl Huggins and the late Ulysees Bowers, Sr.  He was also the son of the late James Huggins who helped reared and raised him just like he was his own child since the age of three.

See was educated in the public schools of Richland School District Five and attended Irmo High School.  He was a hard worker and worked as a custodian at Irmo Middle School in Columbia, South Carolina before going to work as a certified forklift driver at Grade A Masonry.  Always the one to be doing something, he was a handyman, fixing anything in your house or on your car.

See LOVED the Lord, his family, friends, and people in general.  He talked plenty of trash but had a compassionate heart, always helping others in need whether he knew you or not. He was outgoing, liked by everyone he met, and his sense of humor always put you in a good mood.  When he greeted any lady, he would say “Hey Baby” and his infectious smile would make you smile.  See put the F in fashion when he dressed up in his three-piece suit with matching shoes and don’t forget the hat.  He loved fishing but his favorite pastime was hanging out and having a good time with family and friends.  Although he loved being called See, he treasured being called “Daddy” and “Grandpa”.  He had a personal relationship with his cell phone, and it didn’t matter the day or the hour, he was going to call you and expected you to talk to him even it if was in the wee hours of the morning….and guess what, you talked to him.

See’s memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.   He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Shelby Theresa Bowers and Megan Elizabeth Bowers; three grandchildren, Carsen, Aliyah and Chandler Keitt; his mother, Leila Pearl Huggins; two sisters, Trina Bowers and Eneicsha Huggins; two brothers, Dearon Bowers and Timothy Counts; two nieces; two nephews; two great nieces; one great nephew and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
