Tyrone Frederick Gunter

Tyrone Frederick Gunter was born on August 17, 1982, in Columbia, SC. He was the son of Mrs. Carletta Gunter and the late Nathan Gunter. Tyrone departed this life on Saturday, April 28, 2025, at Providence MUSC Health Medical Center in Columbia, SC to his final resting place.

Tyrone was educated in the public schools of Richland School District #1, where he attended WJ Keenan High School. Tyrone’s greatest happiness was in the company of his family, where his heart was most at home. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he found true fulfillment in the time he shared with his loved ones. Tyrone was still in touch with his inner childhood. Tyrone loved children although he did not have any children of his own. He always made sure to show up for them, especially his nieces and nephews.

Despite some obstacles, Tyrone gave selflessly to his family and friends. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, and the garden was his sanctuary; where he found peace in the soil and purpose in the care he gave to everything he planted.

Tyrone also enjoyed riding his bike. It was never just a simple bike ride for him. Whether it was cruising down a road or weaving through paths, every ride was quite adventurous to say the least.

In addition to his father, Tyrone was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary and Carrie Lee Wilson and Pete and Mary Gunter.

Tyrone leaves to cherish fond memories with his mother, Mrs. Carlettea Gunter; brothers, Cedric Gunter, Nathan Wilson, Donnie Wilson, and Ronnie Wilson; sisters, Tika Wilson, and Precious Wilson; a host of nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
