Tyron Jamar Davis Obituary

Mr. Tyron Jamar Davis was born June 17, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late Eddie Davis and Wardean Bowie Davis. Tyron was affectionately known to many as “Ty” and to others as “Maestro.” On February 11, 2021 he answered the call of God and slipped into eternity.

Ty was educated in the public schools of Chicago. He attended Percy L. Julian High School and was a member of the Class of 1980. He attended DePaul University where he majored in music. On April 22, 2012, Ty married the love of his life, the former Sherry E. Richardson and this union was blessed with two beautiful children who were the apple of his eyes and his pride and joy, Lauren Keri and Miles Edward.

While living in South Carolina, Ty became a member of the Bibleway Church of Atlas Road in Columbia. At Bibleway, he was known as a faithful member of the Worship and Arts ministry and the Sanctuary Choir. Ty had a great love of music. He skillfully mastered the art of playing the violin. His love of music of many genres is evident in his extensive collection of CDs and records that he acquired throughout his life.

In addition to his father, Ty was also preceded in death by his sister, Tasha Davis.

Ty’s life and memory will be cherished by all who loved him including his devoted wife, Sherry Richardson Davis; his daughter, Lauren Keri Davis; his son, Miles Edward Davis; and his mother, Wardean Bowie Davis. Others who will cherish his memory are his brother, Larry Davis (JoAnn); his mother-in-law, Betty Richardson; his brother-in-law, Kevin Richardson; special cousins, Celisa Vesay and Ameera Joe and a host of other family members and friends.
