Tresa Lovet Anderson was born on May 31, 1969, in Columbia, South Carolina. She peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of fifty-five.
Early Life and Spiritual Journey . . .
Tresa was the second of four children born to the loving union of William Anderson, Jr., and the late Sarah Louise Smalls Anderson. From an early age, she was introduced to the knowledge of Christ. She fully committed her life to Christ in 2004 after experiencing "The Angel in The Tree" in Winnsboro, SC. Following this profound encounter, Tresa lived a life marked by her unwavering commitment to Christ, never wavering in her faith. She was known for her consistent love and dedication to sharing her faith with family and friends, always speaking life into them.
Community and Service . . .
After her encounter with Christ, Tresa attended Grace and Truth Christian Center. She later united with and committed to serving North Star Christian Center (formally known as Forest Drive Baptist Church). She faithfully and joyfully served as a greeter, offering a smile and a cheerful welcome to all who entered. Tresa leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, pure-heartedness, joyfulness, and a deep commitment to service.
Education and Career
Tresa attended and graduated from the Public Schools of Richland School District One. She was a proud Mighty Shamrock of Eau Claire High School, Class of 1987. After graduating, she entered the workforce at The Brian Center of Saint Andrews, from which she retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
Personal Qualities
Tresa lived life steadily, unafraid, and never rushed, always grounded in her faith and trust in God. Like her love for God, she lived her life committed to her family, enjoying every opportunity to gather together for fellowship, fun, and sharing life experiences.
Family Legacy
In addition to her mother, Tresa was preceded in death by a brother, her maternal and paternal grandparents, three uncles, and two aunts.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving father, William Anderson, Jr.; a sister, Rosalyn Anderson, both of the family home; and three brothers, William (Susan) Anderson of Blythewood, SC, Delvin (Eilena) Hampton of Columbia, SC, and Shawn Anthony McDowell, Sr. of Ohio; nieces and nephew, Kennedy S. Anderson, Olivia Seawright and Malik Seawright all of Columbia, SC. She also leaves behind two aunts, Janie M. Smalls and Brenda Ruff, both of Columbia, SC; four uncles, Melvin (Denise) Smalls, Darrin L. Smalls, Sr., both of Columbia, SC, Gary (Rita) Smalls of Japan, and Ernest (Renee) Smalls of Norfolk, VA; and a host of beloved cousins and friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
