Tracy Alvin Cunningham was born February 17, 1963, in McCormick, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Walter and Joan Mackey Cunningham. Tracy entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Tracy grew up with a natural talent for leadership and a passion for helping others. A 1982 graduate of McCormick High School, he began working at Greenwood Mills at just sixteen (16) years old and remained a dedicated employee there for 27 years. At the age of twenty-two, he married the love of his life, the former, Dorothy Lanham, with whom he shared a lifelong partnership built on faith, love, and family.
Tracy joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church as a young man, where he sang joyfully with the Buds of Promise and the Junior Choir. After retiring from Greenwood Mills, he continued to serve his community through his work at the McCormick County Recycling Center.
Those who knew Tracy will forever remember his love for working on cars, racing, cooking, grilling, and preparing wild game. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by family—watching his children succeed, celebrating the birth of his grandchild, and walking his daughter down the aisle. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, who will be remembered for his warm heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family and community, whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Cunningham; and his brother, Larry Cunningham.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Dorothy L. Cunningham; loving children, Candace (Michael) Thompson, and Terence Cunningham ( Jalisa Burnside); grandson, TreVorious Cunningham; devoted nephew, Tririquez Cunningham; caring brother, Stanley Cunningham; and his loving sister, Yvonne Wheeler; as well as host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, all of whom will dearly miss him.
