Tori D. Vaughan Obituary

Tori Delphine Vaughan, affectionately known as “Neenee,” was born on October 26, 1976, in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Glycerene Southall and James E. Vaughan, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Tori attended Richland Northeast High School. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked for Wray Automotive, providing cleaning services, and also served as a Supervisor at ICCS.

Tori was known for her creativity and nurturing spirit. She enjoyed making candles, creating essential oils, and cooking, which was truly her love language. She expressed her love and care for others through the meals she prepared and the time she spent with family and friends.

Tori was preceded in death by her father, James E. Vaughan, Sr.; her mother, Glycerene Southall; and her stepfather, Norman Southall.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories and continue her legacy her children, Willie J. Chestnut, Montez A. Vaughan, Sr., Katroi K. Jones, and Kamair A. Bryson; grandmother, Aliceteen Ragland; grandchildren, Montez A. Vaughan, Jr., Tahmaj K. Vaughan, Anessa B. Chestnut, Kyasia A. Chestnut, Jah’Aziah K. Alston, Jah’Zara T. Alston, and Ny’Robi S. Jagmohan; grandmother, Aliceteen Ragland siblings, James E. Vaughan, Jr., Scott Southall, and Tormeka Chestnut; nieces and nephews, Khalif Vaughan, Jaylen Vaughan, Semaj Vaughan, Taraji Vaughan, Tiesha Chestnut, Willie Myers, and Daniel Myers; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though she will be deeply missed, Tori’s love, strength, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
