Mr. Thomas C. Walker, affectionately known as “Pee-Wee” or “Fish”, was born February 22, 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Lula B. Hart and the late Thomas Vance. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. He was 67.
Mr. Walker was educated in the public schools of Columbia, South Carolina. He worked many years as a truck driver with companies including: Hardaway, Coastal, Ready Mix Concrete and the list goes on. He was well known and affectionately called “Fish” by many of his co-workers. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being with his family.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his mother, Lula B. Hart; his father, Thomas Vance; two sisters, Polly Jones and Maxine Richardson; one brother, Johnny Walker; and mother-in-law, Antoinette Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Latanya Walker; his ex-wife, Emma Walker; nine loving children, Melanie Walker, Taheerah Walker, Martina Walker, TeErica Walker, Taleya Rice, Thomas D. (Essence Patterson) Walker and Traevon Jones, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Tiffany-Ail George and Tyrell Cargill, both of Brooklyn, New York; four siblings, David (Tasha) Walker, Diane Natt, Eddie (Jennifer) Natt, Valerie (James) Miller, and Terry Hart of Columbia, South Carolina; father-in-law, James Germany; four brothers-in-laws Allen Germany, Ronald (Jaderia) Germany and James Germany, of Brooklyn, New York; two aunts, Evelyn Armstrong of Newark, New Jersey and Mildred Cherry of Columbia, SC; seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
