Thomas Rodney Myers was born April 4, 1957 in Columbia South Carolina. He departed this life on August 14, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland. He was the son of the late Thomas Laws and Inez Myers Laws.
Tom (as he was affectionately called) was educated in Richland County Public schools and graduated from A.C. Flora High School. He attended Morris College in Sumter South Carolina for two years. Tom served three years in the United States Army and later served in the National Army Reserve. He retired from Bonded Loan Office where he was an office manager after twenty-seven years of service. His employer Jay Friedman says "Tom had a big heart. It was great working with him for twenty-seven years. We were more than just work associates; we were great friends."
Tom was married to the Love of His life Patricia (Ann) Patterson Myers. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church where he served on the Jubilee Choir. He was also an active participant in Wednesday Night Bible Study. He was an avid USC football fan and a die-heart Dallas Cowboys fan. Tom also enjoyed watching baseball.
Tom was preceded in Death by his father, Thomas Laws, his mother, Inez Myers Laws, his sister Dorothy Richie, and his brothers Ronnie Myers and Gregory Laws.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories and humble spirit his devoted wife Patricia (Ann) Patterson of the home, two daughters: Jacqueline (Mark) Taylor and Tracy Singleton of Columbia, South Carolina; five sons: John (Trinya) Singleton of Augusta, Georgia, Daryl (Tomeka) Singleton, Micheal Singleton, Tyson Singleton and Andre (Courtney) Singleton all of Columbia, South Carolina; two sisters: Lorriane (Melvin) Fripp of Alpharetta, Georgia and Evelyn Laws-Ashley of Columbia, South Carolina; twenty-three grandchildren, one nephew, seven nieces and host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
