Terria Lee Washington affectionately known as “Saya” was born on January 2, 1980 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Janice Kay Washington. She departed this earthly life on Monday, March 6, 2023.
In her early years, she was educated in the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina and later attended American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia. Terria worked many years at AT&T as a Business Strategic Account Executive and most recently as an Independent Insurance Adjuster at State Farm Insurance Company
Terria committed her life to God at an early age as a Youth Choir member at New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. After moving to Atlanta in her early 20’s, she then became a member at Breakthrough Christian Church of Atlanta, where she was actively involved in the Pastor’s Aide Committee and Church Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Lee and Janice Kay Washington. “Saya” is survived by one brother, Marius (Latoyia) Carter of Stafford, Virginia; Two sisters, Tonisha (Frederick) Chapman and Tammi (Damien) Gerard of Douglasville, Georgia; four nieces, Sade’shia Chandler, Aizha Thompson, Hailie Gerard all of Douglasville, Georgia and Kaylynn Carter of Stafford, Virginia and one nephew Kaleb Carter of Virginia. Four aunts; Cheryl Sanders, Lorraine Carter, Patricia Coleman, Linda Washington, Eleanor Carter all of Columbia, South Carolina, three uncles; Jeffrey Coleman, Jackie Coleman and Andre Carter all of Columbia, South Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
