Sylvia Ann Leysath

Our beloved Sylvia Ann “Sis” Leysath was born September 22, 1954 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was one of 13 children born to the late Booker T. and Addline McFadden. She was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas McFadden and two sisters, Barbara O’Berry and Ann Hart. Sylvia was called to be with her heavenly Father July 5, 2018.

Sylvia was educated in Richland School District One. Later in life she married Freddie “Pig” Leysath. She was employed at Phil’s Seafood and a stay at home mom and grandmother. Sylvia was a loving, caring, and giving person. Sylvia would welcome anyone into her home and would give her last. She was known by her friends, family, and community as being a good spirited, fun, and good-hearted lady. She will be truly missed.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her two daughters, Deon (Greg) Moody, Rashunda Leysath, both of Columbia, SC; two sons, Terrance Leysath, and Nigel Leysath, both of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, Breon, Nya, Gregory, Steven, Devin, Alayah, Nigel, Asia, and Nahiem; three great grand, Douglas, Brielle, and Za’Kyia; three brothers, Frank (Josephine) Hydrick, Booker T. (Irene) McFadden, and Gabriel (Salletha) McFadden; and three sisters, Mary (Thomas) Tillman, Alma (Tony) Hartsfield, and Darlene Alston, all of Columbia, SC, and one uncle, Thomas Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
