Susie Love Obituary

Susie Mae Love was born on April 12, 1942, in Abbeville, South Carolina to the late Levi Sr and Lovena Scott Ellison. She was affectionately known as “Big Susie”.  She departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2019, after 77 years of a loving and devoted life as a servant for the Lord.

Susie retired from the State of South Carolina where she worked over 30 years of dedicated service with Richland School District One at Crayton Middle School as a Cafeteria Worker. She was also employed with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health as a baker.

Susie was a devoted member of Bethlehem Baptist Church College Place. Everyone that knew her knew how much she loves the Lord. She would never start a task without saying, “Lord’s will” first.

Susie would always encourage everyone to know Jesus and be happy. She was the family alarm clock, making sure everyone was up on time for school and work. She also enjoyed speaking on the radio show to wake up the school children. Susie loved baking her delicious cakes, pie and cinnamon rolls for her family and friends. Every holiday you could always ensure to receive a lovely card in the mail from her; where she would leave a token of love inside. She would notate for you to “Buy some ice cream.”  The legacy she leaves is a legacy of love, kindness, and peace. It will always remain in the lives of us all.

Susie was a loving and carrying mother to her three sons. She was preceded in death by her son, Leroy Love and her brother, Levi Ellison Jr.

Susie leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted sons, Nathaniel (Juanita) and Stanley (Andrena) Love; her sisters, Margaret (Ollie) Atchinson and Mary Alice (Marion) Oates; her grandchildren, Nashaun (Christi) Burns, Travis (Natasha) Burns, Crystal (John) Inabinet, Wilhemena Burns, Miquel Dixon, Susan (Tyrone) Love-Smith and Dorothy Nicole Love; her great-grandchildren, Kentrell Kiersten. Synaih, Naila, Nasir, Jaydriana. Christan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
