Solomon Minger, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Solomon Roosevelt Minger, Sr., a son of the late Richard Minger and Elizabeth Robertson was born on May 30, 1943 in Fairfield County, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina.

Solomon received his education in the Fairfield County Public Schools. He served in the US Army for 8 years, receiving a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal in the Korean War. After his service in the Army, Solomon worked for Westinghouse Electric Company and Shakespeare, as well as numerous other occupations.

On December 28, 1963 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Annie Bell Minger.

In addition to his parents, Solomon was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Gregory.

Solomon precious memories will forever be cherished by his three sons, Solomon Minger, Jr., Kenneth (Janet) Minger, and McKinley (Margaret) Minger; five sisters, Mrs. Burnell Lauren of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Majorie Parker of Charlotte, NC, Ms. Nancy Minger (Gary) of Ridgeway, SC, Mrs. Detris Delphine Chapman (Carlton) of Charlotte, NC, and Ms. Deronda Delphine Metz of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Mr. Cleveland Minger (Mae Bell) of Ridgeway, SC, Mr. Harry Minger of Gastonia, NC, and Ronald Metz (Vanessa) of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Chancey Samuel, Courtnee Minger, Chantz (Kelly) Minger, Jerrod Minger, Martika (Michael) Williams, Tyanna Minger, and Kaleb Minger; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom will miss him dearly.
