Shirley Ann Isaac was born May 27, 1957, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Isaac and Bertha Clay Edwards. She departed this earthly life Monday, September 8, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Shirley was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia where she attended Benjamin Franklin High School. Shirley later relocated to Columbia, South Carolina in 1992, where she resided until the time of her departure. Upon relocating to the South, she became a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family.
Shirley was a fierce “Mother Bear” who loved her children dearly. She enjoyed listening to music and being around family and friends. While listening to music, she also enjoyed watching television at the same time. Family and friends knew that there was a radio in every room, and sometimes they would all be on at the same time. It was Shirley’s Surround Sound . . . and you had better not touch anything while she was watching and listening.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Isaac; brothers, David and Kevin Isaac; and her grandson, Devin Ravenell.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Shirley are her loving and caring daughters, Shirley A. Jones, and Brenda M. Isaac; and her son, Isaac E. Jones; grandsons, Calvin M. Ravenell, Kevin D. Ravenell, Keith A Fisher, Jr., Keon A. Fisher and Kemauri K. Fisher; granddaughters, Ke’mya M. Fisher, Keyonna A. Fisher, and Keira D. Fisher; great-granddaughter, Kadence M. Moss; her caring brothers, Benjamin M. Isaac, and Horace Isaac; and her loving sisters, Bertha Isaac, Theresa Isaac, Elfealta Isaac, Kathy Isaac and Jeanette Isaac; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
