Sheila H. Lewis was born November 1, 1966, the beloved daughter of the late Jesse J. and Ellen Goodwin Hayes. After a brief illness, she departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at PRISMA Health Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
Sheila was educated in the public schools Richland School District One where she graduated from Columbia High School in the Class of 1984. She continued her education at South Carolina State College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.
Sheila had a great love and passion for the Seniors Community. She would always say, “I love my Seniors,” and she worked diligently to make sure they were always taken care of. Because of her love and passion, she obtained jobs that reflected her passion. She successfully held many titles and was outstanding at accomplishing each of them.
At the time of her passing, she was employed with AARP as a Program Specialist/Volunteer Management. She was also employed with Senior Actions, SC Department of Aging as Demetia Coordinator, and with the Alzheimer’s Association as Program Director.
At an early age, Sheila joined Friendship Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina.
Sheila will be remembered for her sweet, kind, compassionate, and giving spirit. She was beautiful inside and out, always making others feel loved. Her undying love for her family and many friends will forever live in the heart of all those who loved and knew her.
Those cherishing fond and precious memories of Sheila are her loving and devoted sons, Daniel Zachary Lewis and Kennedy Tyler Lewis; stepson, Daniel (Davonna) Lewis, Jr.; her former spouse and good friend, Daniel K. Lewis, Sr.; her caring and loving sister, Sandra Satterwhite; loving and special nephews, Tyree J. Hayes and Maurio A. Satterwhite; uncles, Jimmy Lee Howell and Rufus Hayes; loving aunts, Francene H. Scipio, Linda Hayes, and Earlene Goodwin; stepsister, Kimberly (Terry Anthony) Hill; stepbrothers, Keith L. Macey and Kevin (Margo) Macey; cousins/sisters, Brenda Hayes, and Angela (Teresa) Rhodes; her lifelong dear friends, Linda Maxwell , Kim Corley and Lenora Jeffcoat; a host of special College Mates; and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
