Sheila Shamika Walker was born August 26, 1968, the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth Propps and Harry Lee Walker. Sheila departed this earthly life for eternal rest with God on Tuesday July 29, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, in Columbia, SC.
Sheila was educated in the public schools of Richland County. She was employed as a CNA until her health declined. She loved caring for and helping people.
Sheila attended and raised her children in Jehovah Baptist Church. She later attended and worshipped at New Laurel Street Baptist Church.
Sheila lived a full and happy life. She was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. She was very protective, always being a barrier and armor of protection for her children and grandchildren. She had a heart of gold. Sheila believed in family first. Even if you were a friend or stranger, she considered you family.
Sheila was a God-fearing woman. Her loyalty and compassion were beyond what words could describe. Sheila always put the needs of others before herself, always opening her home to others, and lending a helping hand to those in need. One thing we all loved about her was the fact that she was very outspoken. She always said what was on her mind regardless of how a person would feel and apologized in the process of telling you how she felt. She let you be yourself, living and enjoying life.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her sisters, Fredena Walker, Vanessa Walker, Teresa Propps, and Regina Canzater; and brothers, Benny Lewis, Donnell Propps and Tyrone Johnson.
Sheila leaves to cherish precious memories her loving and devoted children, Chantal Norris, Zikia Walker, Edward Walker, Keiauntae Holmes and Ashanti Reese; grandchildren, Z’niya Foster, Chantrell Watkins, Neveah Walker, Madison Walker, Kaylie Holmes, Michelle Pridgen, Keanu Pridgen Jr., Caci Martin, Kaiden Holmes and Cayson Davis; loving sisters, Carol Propps and Lavarsha Johnson; brothers, Stephon Propps and Bernard Johnson; special friend, Andre Hall; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
