Santa Barbara Jeffcoat Dawkins

Santabarbara Jeffcoat Dawkins was born August 26, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late James R. “B-Boy” Jeffcoat Sr., and Johnnie Mae Powell; and reared as an honorary daughter in the home of her loving aunt, the late Carrie Lorraine Jeffcoat Kimble, where kindness, respect, deep affection, family love, and unwavering faith was taught.  She departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Santabarbara was educated in the public schools of Richland School District Two where she graduated from Spring Valley High School in the Class of 1973. Santabarbara never shied away from the opportunity to experience new career ventures. She was employed with the Shakespeare Company, LLC, Johnson Food Service, Richland Convalescent Center, and the Department of Probation and Parole in the Maintenance Department until her health declined. Beautiful inside and out, Santabarbara was a long time Model with the Millie Lewis Modeling & Talent Agency for many years.

Always embracing her faith in God, Santabarbara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and continued her spiritual path at Zion Canaan Baptist Church of Columbia, South Carolina.

During her spare time, she found joy in sewing, crocheting, fashion, dancing and listening to music. Though she is no longer physically with us, Santabarbara touched countless lives with her kindness, smile, and her love and grace. She will be missed by all those whose lives she so lovingly touched.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Santabarbara are her three loving sons, Vincent, D. Dawkins, King R. Dawkins, and Trey (Micheal) Jeffcoat; loving daughter, Tia D. Jeffcoat; loving granddaughters, Naky`ja Dawkins and Anaya Dawkins; grandson, Ace Dawkins; her caring brother, James (Odessa) Jeffcoat; nephew, Clevland Jeffcoat; niece, Nicole Jeffcoat; all of Columbia; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
