Ms. Sandra McCoy was born January 16, 1959, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Maggie McCoy and Henry James Smith. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Prisma Health Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Sandra was educated in the public schools of Richland County. After high school she worked in the restaurant industry to pursue her passion of cooking and catering. She loved cooking various types of soulful foods and being around family and friends.
Ms. McCoy joined Columbia College Drive Church of God. She was a faithful member until she went home to be with the Lord. During her tenure at CCDCOG, she participated and served as the Treasurer in the Singles Ministry, the Assistant Treasurer of the Senior Ministry, a member of the Fellowship Dinner Committee, an Usher, the First Ladies Ministry Board, Pastor/First Lady Appreciation Committee and Pastor Aide. She was a true giver, always blessing others. Simply, a true blessing to all.
She was a loving friend, devoted mother, and grandmother. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and giving spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.
Those who will forever cherish Sandra's fond and precious memories are her loving and devoted children, Leslie (Markey) McCoy-Ivery, Rickey McCoy, Alvin McCoy and Cecelia (Kevin) Ravenell, all of Columbia, South Carolina; her loving niece, who she treated as her daughter, LyTonya (Ronnie) Gadson of Columbia, South Carolina; her loving sister, Patsy (Reginald) Satterwhite of Columbia, South Carolina; five (5) loving grandsons, Dillon McCoy, Tyler Gadson, Aiden Ravenell, Alex Ravenell and Alexander McMillan, all of Columbia, South Carolina; six (6) loving granddaughters, Ronai'lah Gadson, RaKeia McCoy, Madison Ivery, Zyana McCoy, Lyric McCoy and Ariah McCoy, all of Columbia, South Carolina and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is resting with the Lord.
