Samuel Henryhand, Sr., was the son of the late Sadie Holmes and Samuel Henryhand. He was raised by the late Ellen & Nathaniel Wisdom. He was born on June 18, 1948, in Williamsburg County, Salter, SC. Sam was a graduate of Blakely High School in Salters, SC. He served in the Armed Services and Served in the Vietnam War.
Samuel and Ernestine married in 1971 this union has been blessed 49 years.
He worked for Pepsi Cola for 26 years before retirement, then later devoting all his time to ministry and family.
He was Affectionately known as Sam, Sammy Boy, Elder, AKA “OLD MAN” He leaves to cherish his Aunt Jeanette Morris of Irmo, SC.
Preceded him in death; his mother and Father Samuel & Sadie Henryhand, (brother) Edward James Henryhand, (sisters) Rethea McCrea, Mary Tann and Jessica (granddaughter).
Samuel loved God and he showed it. Everyone who encountered him felt the love of God. He took ministry seriously. He ministered everywhere he went. His ministry reached thousands through SCDJJ, SCDC, SC Combat Veterans, numerous churches and even in the hospital when admitted.
Samuel Henryhand was a wonderful Husband, Father, Coach, Son, Brother, Brother-in-law, and a great servant of GOD. Sam fathered his 4 children with the fear and respect for the God of his Salvation. Sam also was very active in the lives of his grandchildren by coaching, supporting, but most of all taking photos of them and their accomplishments. Grandpa helped coach his grandchildren along with their friends. Samuel and Ernestine could not wait to impart their love for God to their lineage.
He is survived by his wife Ernestine V. Henryhand; three sons, Walter Vance (Cheryl), Samuel Henryhand Jr. (Arlether) and Michael Henryhand (Quinn); one daughter, Eclolia Henryhand;. grandkids, Antonio, J’Carria, Walter Jr. J’Von, Ashley, Justina, Jalen, Jonathon, Christina, Samuel, Danyel, Micah, Josiah, Adam and Ayvah; three sisters, Elizabeth King, Mae Smith, Marilyn Mitchum and host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nephews, and nieces… and a special friend Pastor Allen D. Williams.
