Samuel Bartley

Samuel Eugene Bartley was born January 28, 1964, in Columbia, South Carolina, the son of Margaret Glover Bartley Rivers and the late Samuel Sutton; and reared in the home of Dawn Danny Robinson. He departed this earthly life on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Sam as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Lexington County.

Sam was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who was an avid believer in Christ.

He was known as a big jokester, but everyone knew he loved and cared for his family and friends dearly. Though he had no children of his own, he loved and held a special place in his heart for his nephews, and nieces dearly. Samuel was man with a big heart; he was always willing to help anyone who was in need. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew him.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Tony Anthony Bartley; and his sister, Mora Teresa Bartley.

Those who are left to cherish fond and precious memories of Sam are his loving mother, Margaret (Alex) Rivers; two brothers, Johnny Brown III of Columbia, SC; and Dawn DeNerro  Robinson of West Columbia, SC; a host of loving and caring nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
