Rosa Lee Bouknight Obituary

Rosa Lee Bouknight was born May 12, 1948, in Richland County, South Carolina.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Willie Martin Sr. and Ruth Quattlebaum Reed, and the stepdaughter of the late Robert Reed.  She departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Rosa was educated in the public schools of Richland County.  She was employed with Haverty’s Furniture Company from which she retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service.

Ms. Bouknight was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Peter Baptist Church.  During her tenure, she served as a member of the Sanctuary Choir where she served as president for several years.  Rosa was recently bestowed the honor of becoming one of St. Peter’s Church Mothers, an honored she regarded in high esteem.

Rosa was dedicated to her children and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the Gospel as she did.  She was soft spoken, but she always had time to listen, help others, answer questions, and offer advice that was pleasing in the site of God.  She will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Rosa are her loving son, Andre M. Bouknight, Sr.; adopted daughter, Yvette Daniel Quattlebaum; grandson, Andre Bouknight, Jr., Treyvon Bouknight and Shikill Bouknight; granddaughters, Kiarra Savage and Ashley Smith; thirteen (13) great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Martin, Jr., John Eddie Brooks, Randy, Ricky, Mike and Reese Quattlebaum, Franklin, Arthur and Curtis Ashford; sisters, Treneace (Lorenzo) Hearns, Regina Hingleton, Patricia Pickens, Phyllis (Calvin) Brown and Fealicia Cradle; maternal aunt, Blanche Q. Mouzon; her supportive and best friend, Pamela Burton; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is with the Lord.
