Rosa Lee Bellamy was born October 22, 1934 in Red Bluff, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Annie Vera Woodard and Ivory B Woodard. She departed this life to be with the lord on Wednesday February 26, 2020, at Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
Rosa attended the public schools of Horry County. Upon completing high school, she attended and completed Waverly School of Beauty Culture where she received her license in cosmetology. Upon graduating, she then purchased the school where she started Waverly Hair Style Center in March of 1983. At Waverly Hair Style Center is where she perfected the art of cosmetology, which was very dear to her for over 25 years, and where she continued to own until her departure.
In 1960, Rosa was united in Holy matrimony to Reverend Levi Bellamy, Sr of Brooksville, South Carolina. This union was blessed with over forty years of love and devotion, and the birth of four children.
Rosa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend who loved spreading the love of God, helping everyone, and had a deep love for all children. Though physically she will no longer be with us, her loving and kind spirit will live on in the hearts and lives of all those who loved her, and she loved dearly.
Rosa Bellamy was preceded in death by her late husband, Reverend Levi Bellamy, Sr; son, Kenneth Bellamy; two sisters, Mae Lois Woodard and Elanor Moore; and one brother Levone Woodard.
Those left to cherish Rosa’s warm and precious memories are her loving and devoted children; two sons, Levi Bellamy, Jr (Lisa), Deacon Gregory (Dionne) Bellamy; one loving daughter Terry (Darryl) Corbitt; two grandchildren reared In the home, Joy and Justin Bellamy; one sister-In-law, Rachel Woodard; one daughter-in-law, Maxine Reese; and loving grandchildren, Jamie Corbitt-Johnson, Dominic, and Dallaz Corbitt, Nicole Javis-Brown, Tiffany Bellamy-Lyles, Michelle Wiley, Anthony, Theotis, and Terrance Bellamy, and Asyia Bellamy; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, god-children, extended family members, friends, and loving Bethlehem Baptist church family, all whom join with the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure.
