Roosevelt “Ro Ro” Durham was born October 28, 1960, in Fairfield County. He was the beloved son of the late Elex Durham and Elizabeth Barber-Bailey. On Sunday night, August 8, 2022, at Providence Hospital Northeast, God sent His angels to take him home to be with the Lord.
Roosevelt attended Fairfield County Schools and was employed for many with years with the South Carolina Department of Highways and Richland County where he worked in construction. Roosevelt united in Holy Matrimony to Betty H. Durham and together they shared many years of love and devotion to each other.
Mr. Durham was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Fairfield County. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and he enjoyed fishing. Though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him.
Those who are welcoming Roosevelt home to reign with the Lord are his parents Elex and Elizabeth; three brothers, Elex James, Gary and Michael Durham.
Roosevelt is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Betty H. Durham; loving son, Roosevelt Harrison, of Columbia, SC; loving bonus daughter, Sylvia D. Gadsden of Moultrie, GA; two grandsons, Braelen Harrison and King Harrison, both of Moultrie, GA; caring brother, Franklin (Bessie) Durham of Ridgeway, SC; sister-in-law, Shirley Durham of Pellion, SC; nephew, Franklin T. Durham; nieces, Nakisha Jeter, Sylvia Smith and Aisha Durham; all of Columbia, SC; a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure, but rejoice that he is resting with the Lord.
