Ronald "Ron" Watkins, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of sixty-five (65), leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on May 25, 1957, in Gaffney, South Carolina, Ron later graduated from Clifton Park High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Throughout his life, he was known for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family.
Ron worked for many years as a dedicated delivery driver. Whether he was on the road, spending time outdoors fishing, or under the hood of a car, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed working on cars, a hobby that reflected his patience, skill, and determination.
More than anything, Ron treasured his family. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness, and the time he spent with them created memories that will forever be held close to their hearts. He had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a caring nature that touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty Watkins; his cherished daughter, Yogi Watkins; and other loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong companion, Geraldine Wider; his children, Ronald Watkins Jr., Barry Wider, and Jessica Belle; and his beloved grandchildren, Ronald Watkins III, Jaheim Butler, Aalyiah Watkins, Deventley Simmons, NeAsia Wider, Khamazii Belle, Christopher Wider, Khameron Belle, Kennsley Wider, Duquan McCalla, and Jermel McCalla.
He is also survived by his father, Richard Rice of New Jersey if living; along with extended family members, relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Ron's love, kindness, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the lives he touched. His memory will forever remind us to cherish our loved ones, embrace life's simple joys, and never take a moment together for granted.
