Roderick Willie Dean

Roderick Willie Dean was born  June 22, 1975, in Greenwood, South Carolina, the beloved son of Denise Yeldell and the late Willie Robert “Bo” Dean. He transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

“Rod” as he was affectionately called by family and friends was educated in the public schools of McCormick County,  later transferring to Greenwood County School District.  He relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, where he worked as a forklift driver for seven (7) years.

At an early age Roderick joined Cedar Springs Baptist Church.

Rod was a loving, dedicated and protective brother to his sisters who he adored. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who loved to dance, and spend time with family and friends. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.

Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Roderick are his two children, Juantavious Thomas of Florida, and Elexus Dean of Greenwood, SC;  his loving mother, Denise D. Yeldell of Augusta, GA; brother, Malvin (Patricia) Courtney of Greenwood, SC; loving and adoring sisters, Katrina (Kenneth) Byrd Lewis of Evans, GA, and Shantial (Carisha) Dean of Augusta, GA; grandchildren all of Florida; nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom are sadden by his departure.
