Robin “Plummie” Montgomery-Brown born February 4, 1959, in Hopkins, South Carolina the beloved daughter and 12th of sixteen children born to the late Reginald and Ellen Hall Montgomery. She departed this earthly life on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.
Robin was educated in the public schools of Lower Richland County where she attended Hopkins High School in Hopkins, South Carolina.
Mrs. Brown was a faithful and longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church.
“Plummie” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was employed in hospitality/food service where she held several positions: with her last employer being at Fort Jackson.
Plummie had a heart of gold always helping those in need and sometimes in want. She never met a stranger, was strongly opinionated and fiercely loyal to those she loved, not perfect, but always there. She will be remembered for teaching her children to be fearless, and to always chase their dreams. She will be missed by all those who loved and knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Reginald and James Montgomery; and sisters, Leola Davis, Maggie Gilmore and Eloise James.
Those who are cherishing fond and precious memories of Plummie are her loving husband, Curtis Brown; loving and caring sons, Cedric, Freddy, and Thomas Montgomery; eleven precious grandchildren, Yamarian Jacobs, Eden and Eli, Ashanti, Tasia, Thomas and Tamia Montgomery, Baby Key’Mir Dowell, Key’Marri, Tay’Moni and Key’Mon Montgomery; caring siblings, John Montgomery, Corette (James) Hayes, Fanny Young, Brenda Montgomery, Leon Montgomery, Patricia Hampton, and Regina ( Ricky) Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom are left to tell her story and keep her memory alive.
