Mr. Robert Lee Williams, was born on November 26, 1935 in Eastover, SC. He was the son of the late James Williams and Beatrice (Bailey) Williams. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Robert affectionately known as “Butch” or “Pops” by his family and friends attended public schools of Eastover, SC. On January 23, 1961 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Josephine Jackson. This union was blessed with the birth of five beautiful daughters.
Mr. Williams was a man of many talents and skills. He was employed for many years with the Walter Hunter Construction Company where he retired at the age of 70 in 2006.
Mr. Williams was a member of Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Columbia, SC, where he was a member of the Men’s Choir. He enjoyed fixing things, doing yardwork, playing the lottery, going to church and getting dressed up for church.
Robert was a loving, husband, gather, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Though his physical presence will be with us no more, his spirit and memories of him will live on in the hearts and lives of all those who loved and knew him.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Williams; his mother, Beatrice (Bailey) Williams and his father, James Williams.
Those left to cherish Roberts fond and precious memories are his daughters, Elaine Williams, Delores (Eddie) Natt, Robersina (Albert) Knight, Natalie (Robert) and Yolundia Williams all of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Chicago, Illinois, Ronethia, Robert (Cory), Tameika (Cookie), Tanisha, Trevon, Eulella Davis, Sara McCauley and Velma all of Columbia, SC; great-grandchildren, Shakira Williams and Savion Clark whom lived with him and five others all of Columbia ,SC; two special daughters, Gloria (Ann) Q. Raspberry of Orlando, FL and Denise Carter of Spartanburg, SC; two special nieces, Elizabeth Wine and Debora Collins both of Columbia, SC; best friend,
Marion Green of Columbia, SC; close family friend, Elise Friday of Columbia, SC; special friend, Tressie Hopkins of Columbia, SC; close neighbor, Michael Rankin of Columbia, SC and a host of nephews, nieces, other loving relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
