Robert W. Smith, Sr.

Robert W. Smith, Sr., affectionally known as "Bubba," was born on November 8, 1947, in Columbia SC. He was the oldest son of the late Louis and Ethel Smith. He departed this life July 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was educated in public schools of Richland County. He entered the workforce at an early age and retired from Garnett Logitic as a forklift operator. He enjoyed being at home watching sports, westerns, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Smith; son, Larry Smith, Sr.; twin daughters, 2 sisters, Beatrice Boyd and Valerie Smith; brother, Alphonso Smith; and great-grandson Jayceon Anderson.

Mr. Smith leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 47 years Jamie Smith; 1 son, Robert Smith, Jr.; 2 daughters, Ronette (Ronald) Sumter, and Tara (Stanley) Smith; 7 grandsons, Sherod Smith, Aaron Smith, Arttrell (Geovanna) Dinkins, RoQuawn Dinkins, Larry Smith, Jr, Robert Dinkins, Stanley Dove, III; 4 granddaughters Whitney (J'Quan) Anderson, Ty Tucker, Shomonique Burgess, and KieAyla Dove; 6 great-grandsons Sherod Smith Jr., Arttrell Dinkins Jr., Darryl Tucker, Zyshawn Frost, Ladeveaux Frost, J'Quan Anderson Jr.; and 1 great-granddaughter, Ty Tucker; 3 sisters, Prisilla Smith, Carnell (Dale) Conyers, Patricia (John) Wilson; and 5 brothers, Louis Smith, Larry Smith, Frank Smith, Kerry Smith and Joseph Smith. Robert leaves a host of nieces and nephews that he greatly loved.
