Reginald Lydell Oree Obituary

Reginald L. Oree peacefully departed this earthly life to meet his heavenly father on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Reginald was born on December 26, 1964, in Columbia, South Carolina.  He was the son of Martha Mae Oree. He married the love of his life, Marcella Palmer and they shared 27 years of matrimony.

He was educated in the public schools of Richland School District two and graduated from Spring Valley High School.  He was a hard worker and drove a school Bus for Richland School District Two.  His work career also included working at Richtex Bricks and Columbia Housing Authority.  Always the one to be doing something, he worked on cars in his spare time.

He loved spending time with family and friends, and they affectionately called him “Slick”.  He was a sports fan and loved watching the Washington Football team.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marcella Oree; daughter, DeAngela Palmer (Lorenzo Kerrison); son, Christopher Palmer; grandchildren, Jerimiah Cherry, Jaquan Palmer; Lorenzia Kerrison, Zada Coman, Safari Coman and Xavier Palmer; his mother, Martha Mae Oree; sisters, Elisa Oree and Stephanie Oree; his step-father, William P. Oree, Jr.; half-sister, April Huff; half-brothers, Jamie Huff, Floyd Huff, Jr., Bernard Parker, Anthony Huff and Andre Goodwin; god son, Roy Quick, Jr. and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
