Mr. Reginald Montgomery Jr, affectionately known as “Pop” was born on November 20, 1948 in Columbia, SC. He was the son of the late Reginald and Ella Mae-Hall Montgomery. He departed this life on March 31, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland after a long fight with cancer.
Reginald was educated in the Richland County Public School system at Hopkins High School. Shortly after high school he went to Job Corps. He then became a truck driver for McEntire Produce for several years.
Pop was a loving person and showed it to all that he encountered. Pop displayed a love to his family and friends that money couldn’t buy, it was PRICELESS!!
Reginald was preceded in death by his brother, James Montgomery and three sisters, Mrs. Eloise James, Mrs. Leola Davis and Mrs. Maggie Mae Gilmore, all of Columbia, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Diane (Ashford) Montgomery; six children, Rodney Sims, Reginald Montgomery III, Salathia Montgomery, Tameka Bell, Carlos Taylor and Lendra Vinson; two brothers, John Montgomery and Leon Montgomery both of North Carolina; six sisters, Fannie Mae Young, Corette ( Reverend James E.) Hayes, Patrica Hampton, Regina (Ricky) Brown, Robin Montgomery and Brenda Montgomery all of Columbia, SC; twenty-two grandchildren; five great-granchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other
