Phyllis Marie Quattlebaum was born January 27, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby Bright Johnson. God called her to come home on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
“Bluck,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, attended the public schools of Richland School District One, and graduated from C. A. Johnson High School Class of 1968. Before her health declined, Phyllis was employed in the retail and food industry where she worked at Crossing Deli. During her time there she developed a great relationship with her co-workers and customers, sharing with them her love of food. She was a hard worker, determined, and a strong-willed woman who refused to give up on any obstacle that she faced.
She was loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Though she Is no longer physically with us, may her spirit continue to live in our hearts, and our guiding our lives.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by her baby brother, Crispin Joseph Johnson.
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of Phyllis are her loving and devoted daughter, Kimberlee Jones; loving sister, Stephanie (Jesse) Stearns; caring brother, Glen Johnson; adoring nieces, Tamara Robinson, Adrina Patterson, Glentae Jackson and Tasha Holmes; caring nephews, Patrick Livingston, Vashaun Holmes, Clyde Robinson, Joey Goudy, and DJ Jackson; great nieces, Ny’Aisha Livingston, and Charli Robinson; a host of cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure.
