Paris Shamaya Franklin was born October 31, 2005, in Columbia, South Carolina. Paris was raised in Lexington, South Carolina and was the beloved daughter of Christa V. Johnson and the late Gawayne Allen Franklin; and Bonus Daughter of Dimitri Henderson and Diaundria Jamison.  Paris passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the age of 16.

Paris was educated in public schools of Lexington District One and was a Junior at White Knoll High School. Paris was employed at McDonald’s on South Lake Drive where she was a cashier.

In her short life, Paris learned about the importance of family. She often enjoyed going on family vacations and overall spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching anime, reading, listening to K-pop, and studying the meaning of different healing crystals and stones.

Paris was proceeded in death by her father, Gawayne Allen Franklin; and her aunt, Tamekia Taylor.

Paris is survived by her parents, Christa Johnson and Dimitri Henderson and Her Bonus Mother, Diaundria Jamison of Gaston, South Carolina; siblings, Janiyah Martin, Isaiah Neal, Jay’Vion Langford, Jayden Martin, Damari Henderson, Damarcus Henderson, and Damani Henderson, all of Columbia, South Carolina; grandparents, Gawayne and Brenda Gantt of Charleston, South Carolina; Dannette Johnson, and Michael Holman of Lexington, South Carolina; Margaret Henderson of Columbia, South Carolina; and Charles Clark Sr. of Hampton, Virginia; great-grandmother, Mary Johnson of Irmo, South Carolina; aunts, Trina Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia; Yulanda (Omar) Anderson, Shaunda Johnson, Alethea Johnson, all of Columbia, South Carolina; Natasha Johnson, Cassandra Johnson-Summers (Simmie) of Lexington, South Carolina; and Sandra (Jamir) Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; uncles,  Anthony Clark and Charles Clark Jr. both of Hampton, Virginia; a host of great aunts, great uncles,  cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is Free.
