Orlando Delaney Obituary

Orlando “Bum” Vernon Delaney was born July 25, 1960, in Columbia, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Orlando and Nellie Delaney.  He departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 12, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his brother Charles “Buck” Delaney.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Columbia High School class of 1978. 

At an early age, he attended Clement Road Church of God, Columbia, SC. He wasn’t a member of one particular church, but visited several churches in the Columbia Area.

He worked various jobs during his lifetime including; Farm Credit Bank, PMSC and Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning.

Orlando loved the Minnesota Vikings, He was their #1 fan in the state of South Carolina.  His daughter Shanice and granddaughter Kholbi were the love of his life. Bum enjoyed listening and dancing to music, all sports, meeting new people, taking food to his sister Bebe, spending quality time with his sister Sharon, loved to ride out with his nephew Charlie and always enjoyed going to Phoenix, Arizona to see his brother John.

Those left to cherish Orlando “Bum” precious memory: daughter, Shanice Delaney, granddaughter, Kholbi Hilton, both of Columbia, SC ; brother, John Delaney (Pam) Phoenix Arizona;  two sisters, Rosa Collins and Sharon Hayes, both of Columbia, SC; nephews, Victor Collins, Charlie (Sabrina) Collins, both of Columbia, SC; Marty (Sandra) Collins, California; Nicholas Hayes, Phoenix Arizona;  Kentarrio Delaney, Cayce, SC; Charles (Rodeline) Delaney, Canton Georgia; Dennis (Lagranda) Delaney, Fredericksburg Virginia; Michael (Claudell) Smith, Georgetown, SC; Kevin (Towanda) Brown, Columbia, SC; Chris Delaney, Montana; Nieces, Meocia (Otis) Baxter, Jacksonville, Florida; Formeicko (Elijah) Smith, Cupanna Collins, Kemonie (Marquis) Williams, all of Columbia, SC;  a host of great nieces, great nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
