Mrs. Nora Burns White was born January 24, 1928, in Blaney (Elgin), South Carolina to the late Charlie and Mamie Burns. On Sunday, October 22, 2017, she was enfolded into the waiting arms of her heavenly Father to take her eternal rest.

She was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County. In her teenage years, she took part in The Great Migration and moved to New York where she would find better opportunities. She worked as a child care provider and did domestic work for many years until her retirement.  She then moved back to South Carolina where she reunited with all five of her sisters: Kittie Mae, Lueal, Rebecca, Charlisena, and Rosa Lee. All six of the sisters lived right around the corner from one another. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and they made sure that each of their families shared that same unbreakable bond with one another.

Nora was a devoted member of First Greenview Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board and Pulpit Aide Ministry, and she faithfully attended Sunday School until her health declined.

Nora was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved art, antiques, children, and traveling.  She also loved to entertain and cook lavish dinners for her family and friends. Her beautiful smile and genuine kindness warmed the hearts of many.

She was married to the late Booker T. White for many years before his passing. To this union, one child was born.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, John "Timmy" White.

Nora leaves to cherish precious memories and special moments, four nieces: Thomasina Davis, Elvena Parks, Eleanora Edmonds, and Barbara Crum; six nephews: Alred (Maebelle) Kelly, Jr., Bobby Coleman, Melvin Kelly, Norman (Kelly) Moore, Ronald (Cynthia) Moore, and Donald Moore. She also leaves to mourn her passing two special friends, Bill and Nancy Theus, and a host of loving grandnieces, grandnephews, and other relatives and friends.
