Nevada (Brown) Washington

Mrs. Nevada Brown-Washington was born April 10, 1951 in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ethel Lee Brown and the late Johnny Washington. She was called home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2018.

Nevada was educated in the public schools of Richland County. Her passion was cleaning and cooking and taking care of her family. This passion led her to a career in food service. For many years, she was employed at Patterson Hall Food Service at the University of South Carolina. She was also employed by Best Cleaning Service and Residence Inn by Marriott.

In her time away from work she enjoyed her family and friends, spreading love throughout the neighborhood. Nevada was a woman of few words, but when she talked, everyone listened.

In addition to her parents, Nevada was predeceased by her daughter, Symathia Washington; brother Wesley Brown, Sr.; two sisters, Fannie Mae Brown Weaver, and Johnnie Mae Rawls; grandmother, Leola Brown; grandfather, Furman Brown; and great grandson, Kayce Washington, Jr.

Left to cherish her loving memories are, her husband, Willie Washington; two daughters, Sharon Brown and Angelique Washington; two step daughters, Theresa (Rob) Williams, and Denise Taylor; son Jackie (Frankie) Brown; three sisters, Felicia Brown, Pealine Walker, and Diane Williams; two brothers, Johnny Ray Brown, and William Washington; 28 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
