Mollye Y. Pauling

Mollye Y. Pauling was born in Nuremberg, Germany on April 21, 1950 to the late Emanuel & Lillian Carter, Sr. Mollye fell asleep in death on June 10, 2026 at her home with family.

Mollye attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated from Dreher High School. She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1963. Mollye then married Heyward Pauling and was a devoted wife and mother to her 3 children and family. 

She was soft spoken and a mild person, but wasn't afraid to correct you when you needed it. Mollye loved to sew, cook and garden. She was famously known for her pound cakes, corn bread and sweet, homemade biscuits. When you walked into her yard it was always so beautiful. She is most known for her abundant elephant ear plants!

Mollye worked at Pacific Mills for 30 years and then worked at Bose, retiring in 2013. She continued with gardening, taking care of her parents, and spending time with her children and grandchildren and their school events. She also enjoyed sharing 'the good news of God's Kingdom' from the Bible with others outside of her family. Mollye will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 

Mollye was preceded in death by her father Emauel Carter, Sr, her mother Lillian Wright Carter and her brother Willie L.  "Bubba" Carter.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one brother Emanuel M (Ualla) Carter Jr of Columbia, SC ; two daughters Katrina Carter Etheredge of Columbia, SC; Lisa (Asaad) Daniels of Columbia, SC; one son Anthony Pauling of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren Marki C. Carter; B. De'Shawn Etheredge; Infinity Y. Evans; Troy A. Evans, Jr.; Alayla W. Daniels; Emani Pauling; Ezekiel Pauling of Columbia SC; three great-grands Jeremiah Carter, Sarai Etheredge, Na'Siya Gonzalez-Etheredge of Columbia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
